PM Modi flags off 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains: All you need to know


India's transportation sector has received a significant boost with the inauguration of 10 new Vande Bharat trains on March 12. The event was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from Ahmedabad.

The new trains bring the total number of VVande Bharat trains to 51, covering 45 routes across the country.

These new trains will be operating on various routes such as Dehradun to Lucknow, Patna to Lucknow, and New Jalpaiguri to Patna. Bhubaneswar will be connected to Visakhapatnam, while Kalaburagi will be connected to Bengaluru. Ranchi will be connected to Varanasi, Khajuraho with Delhi, and Ahmedabad with Mumbai.

Delhi has emerged as a star player, with 10 Vande Bharat trains connecting the city to Amb Andaura, Amritsar, Ayodhya, Bhopal, Dehradun, and Khajuraho. Mumbai has six and Chennai has five, while Mysuru welcomes its second Vande Bharat train.

The new trains will also be operational on existing routes, with some extensions. Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod will now reach Mangaluru, and Ahmedabad-Jamnagar will extend to Dwarka. Gorakhpur-Lucknow will now reach Prayagraj, and the Ajmer-Delhi route will stretch to Chandigarh.


Jharkhand will now have its third Vande Bharat train, connecting Ranchi and Varanasi. This train will become operational on March 18.
