To secure cheap summer flights, it's crucial not to delay.
Booking at least a month prior is advisable, and purchasing tickets even earlier can save money. The booking window for Memorial Day Weekend, falling on May 27 this year, is closing rapidly, with prices expected to increase as the holiday comes.
For Juneteenth, falling on June 19, a midweek day off in 2024, there's a chance to find cheaper tickets for a newer national holiday. However, mid-June is a popular time for travel, so booking by mid-March or no later than May 1 is recommended to avoid excessive prices.
Independence Day on July 4, a Thursday in 2024, is another popular travel time. Booking three months in advance, ideally in March or April, is advised to secure good prices and availability. Prices are likely to increase closer to the holiday, with flights potentially selling out.
