Everything You Need to Know About Emirates' Pre-approved Visa on Arrival for Indian Passengers

Emirates Airlines, one of the flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates, has launched a new initiative in partnership with VFS Global to provide a pre-approved visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders.

This service, available exclusively to Indian passport holders, makes it possible for travellers to avoid the visa-on-arrival queue upon arriving in Dubai.


The ambition began on February 1 and offers a 14-day single-entry visa service, which is fulfilled by the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC).

To be eligible for the pre-approved visa-on-arrival facility, Indian passport holders must have a valid six-month visa for the US, US Green Card, EU Residency, or UK Residency and have booked their travel with Emirates.

The network of India's airlines includes nine destinations, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.


Although, Emirates operates 167 weekly flights from these cities, connecting travellers to Dubai and onwards to a global network of more than 140 destinations.


Interestingly, Dubai remains one of the top destinations for Indian travellers, offering a wide range of attractions and accommodation options to suit every taste, age, and budget.

The fact is, that Dubai is also home to a vibrant Indian community that frequently welcomes family and friends from India and around the world. In 2019, Dubai Tourism recorded an impressive influx of 2 million overnight visitors from India.



Emirates has made the visa application process easy for passengers by providing an option to manage existing bookings through its website, which redirects travellers to the online UAE visa application site powered by VFS Global Services.


This new initiative is expected to make the process easier for Indian passport holders and help them skip queues when arriving in Dubai.
